Stephen and Natalie’s Scrabo Wedding

31 Jul

Truscott Photography was there to cover Stephen and Natalies Wedding from before the Grooms arrival to after the speeches.  They had a great day planned starting at Newtownards Town Hall with their recpetion at Scrabo Golf Club via a quick (and interesting) visit to Scrabo Tower on the way.

I was there nice any early to get some detail shots of the venue and be there for Stephen and his lads to arrive.  Although it was raining that morning, by the time I got my cameras out of the bag the sun was shining and doing its best to stay out.  It was still sunny when  a very relaxed Stephen arrived and after a couple of group photos of the Groomsmen, we also got a request Stephen had for all of the Groomsmen to run in a line and jump off the stairs at the front of the Town Hall.

From there the guests started to arrive and gather for the arrival in the Town Square along with many other spectators for the arrival of the Bridesmaids and then the Bride.  The Bridesmaids arrived in style in a nice stretched limo and gathered for the arrival of Natalie who arrived soon after on a beautiful vintage Rolls Royce with her Dad.

Natalie stepped out of the car in front of quite a number of locals who had waited around to see the Bride’s arrival.  After some quick shots with the Bridesmaids and her Dad it was show time!

All the guests where in and ready to go and by the time I got to the front of the aisle Stephen was anxiously waiting to get started as well.  Led by two Flower Girls and 5 Bridesmaids, Natalie walked down the aisle with a huge grin on her face.

After a very nice and happy service, it was time to head outside for the confetti shot and a number of different shots that popped up with everyone mingling outside waiting to congratulate the new Mr and Mrs!

From there the next stop was up at the duck pond where the videographer wanted to shoot a couple of scenes and after that it was time to head up to Scrabo Golf Club which was the venue for the reception via some photos up at Scrabo Tower.

When we arrived at Scrabo Tower we soon realised that the car wouldn’t be able to get up the hill to Scrabo Tower, so plans were temporarily scrapped until out of the blue a golf buggy arrived and for a Truscott Photography first, the Natalie jumped into the passenger seat and Stephen and I jumped onto the back of the buggy and we started motoring up the road (just) towards the Tower.  It was VERY funny and a moment I won’t forget hanging on to the back of this buggy for my life with two cameras over my shoulders going up a very steep hill with the Bride and Groom!  I’m sure they won’t be forgetting it quickly either.

It was great we made the effort though…  Because once up there we had a superb, quiet location with a brilliant sky and beautiful surroundings that made for some great unique photos!!  The ride back down was just as nuts as the one up and we certainly got some laughs from the other wedding guests heading back up to the golf club!

Once the dust settled at the golf club it was time to get the formal photos, the mock cutting of the cake and the group shot taken, then from there we had time to get more candid shots of the guests including the very good characterturist who was very popular through the entire reception.

Time flew in before it was time for the Bride and Groom to enter the reception and start the nights fun!  The speeches were very good and told a few home truths about the Groom along the way which the guests enjoyed quite a bit!  Natalie also got up to say a few words which was a nice touch and finished off the official speeches well.

So congrats to you both!  It was a great day full of laughs and I wish you both the best of luck for the future!
